Finding the right second baseman. If they are going to spend money,
that would be a good place. Either that, or find a taker on Cuddyer's
salary, put Colvin in right field and buy a first baseman.
C Rosario is so rough defensively, but that's what he'll be working on
in the offseason. The kid swings the bat with power. He has to become
at least average defensively, though.
1B has to be Colvin (or new guy, see above). See ya, Todd and
Giambino. If Todd is the regular first baseman in 2013, that just
might make me lose hope.
SS is pretty good. Stay healthy, TTT.
3B will be Nolan Arenado time. He's having a solid year at Tulsa, but
not great: .282, 7 HRs. He's 21 years old. He's up with the big club
in 2013. I am glad the Rox didn't rush him.
Cargo, Dex, Cuddy (or Colvin) in the outfield. Check.
De La Rosa, Chacin, Nicasio, Pomeranz and Francis in the rotation. I
am actually opposed to the Rox spending free-agent money here. The
above five could be pretty good, and Rox can let some good, young arms
develop another year in the minors.
Pacheco swings it well enough to be the utility/pinch hitter. Herrera
makes the team as a backup because of his versatility.
Best-case scenario is they contend for one of the two wild-card
berths. It won't be like this year unless the pitching staff blows up,
which I don't think it will with those guys.
