Subject: Matt's great but not sure he's Manny or Vlad as a hitter

Is he going to be a 30-40 HR, 130 plus RBI guy every year?
Not sure.
The question is what do other teams think?
If they think Holliday's a superstar and not just very good, then a
great deal could be had. I agree, Colorado needs more pitching, as in
a #1 or #2 starter or prospects that can be that. Right now, despite
all the hype, I think Jimenez and Morales are not those guys. With
their control problems, I see them, at best as middle-of-the-rotation
starters who can look brilliant on days/nights they put it all
together. There will be no consistency with those two until they can
throw strikes consistently and get people out doing so.
Can't remember the specifics but didn't the Indians make a trade with
the former Expos to get Cliff Lee, Brandon Phillips and Grady
Sizemore? That was a stud deal. There are deals like that out there
once in a while. If you have a strong enough commodity and you are
smart enough to identify premium prospects and one team has enough of
them, then you can get something done.
