brainwashed about energy in general, and about alternative energy in
particular. The whole topic plays into two troublesome traits,
namely, the juvenile Conspiracy Theory Mentality about oil, gas and
coal, and the Git Sumthin' Fer Nuthin Mentality which has made it
easy for them to get misled about the potential of wind, solar, etc,
to contribute substantially to the solution.
It's like Gov. Ritter here in CO crowing about a few hundred jobs in
Windsor and in Lamar related to wind turbine equipment construction,
while he pushes a disingenuous permit revision plan through the
Colorado Oil & Gas Conservation Commission that is going to cost at
least several thousand O&G jobs statewide, largely lower middle
class jobs in western Colorado. All this while he crows about the
2+ Billion dollar windfall the state will receive from O&G
production "in the coming years". He and his stooges don't get the
fact that all over downtown even as he speaks, drilling and leasing
budgets are slowly but sure being directed away from projects in
Colorado to projects in the neighboring states.
