change "natural disasters" to "disasters". Happy now?
And, yes, much was said about Robertsons and Falwells comments when
those DISASTERS occurred and the comments were made. They were
ridiculed by pretty much everyone in the media. I even remember
conservative radio hosts covering the comments extensively because
they were so controversial. Again, if you don't remember the
controversy then you weren't paying attention.
