I was in Omaha Thursday through this morning and read the article in
the Omaha World-Herald while eating breakfast at the Double Tree
Hotel.
The Big 12 might, just might, have done something right for a change
by recommending that he move on. He had no business officiating
games in the Big 12 conference. I don't need to say anything else
about this guy except that he agreed to, and then actually officiated
at least one game involving the Nebraska Cornhuskers. That can't
even be excused as a momentary lapse of judgment. Nobody, and I mean
nobody would ever agree to officiate a game involving the school they
once played for. By doing that he left everything else he did as an
official in the conference open to question. It would be like me
umpiring a fastpitch game when my daughter was pitching.
I laugh that his exit from the Big 12 is covered up by stating that
he moved "up" to the NFL. They wanted him out and they didn't care
where he went as long as he is gone from the conference.
P.S.
Luther, I know you have been aggravated by my take on this guy, but
it is not even arguable when you know he actually officiated a game
involving his old school.
Otherwise, I enjoyed my visit to Omaha and Offutt Air Force Base. I
hope you have been well.
