Actually, in the end this team was all to willing to bend of the
chair and let Kobe have his way with them. Won't even cost Kobe a
$4 million rock for his bride.
I think what happened was a combination of things. First, the
Nuggets let the Lakers hang around too long, giving away games 1 and
3. They win either of those, they take the series. However, by
letting the Fakers stick around, the confidence that carried them
into the series began to erode. (This is why Karl was so bummed
after giving away game 1). While the fans all thought there was no
way the Nuggets would blow a game a home to force a game 7, the
Nuggets looked at the stats: when the Lakers are up 3-2, they
almost always win, and they never lose a game 7 at home. Seeing the
handwriting on the wall, they decided to fold, like a Faber, at home.
Ah, but Faker fans, it will be short-lived. Orlando will run the
Fakers off their own court.
